Important events to be reported: Inclusion on Secondary Emerging Watchlist by FTSE Russell

Bucharest Stock Exchange announces the inclusion by FTSE Russell of the Romanian capital market on the Watchlist for possible promotion to Secondary Emerging market status. The announcement was made on September 29, following the decision of the Country Cassification Committee. In case of Romania, the promotion in the superior market status will be done following the fulfillment of the broad market liquidity criterion, and of the existence in the market of large companies with significant individual trading value.

At present, together with FTSE Russell, other three global institutions - MCSI (USA), S&P Dow Jones (SUA) and STOXX (Elvetia) – evaluate the Romanian capital market. The criteria which must be fulfilled and the analysis process are relatively similar and refer mainly to the trading value and the size of the companies listed on the exchange, as well as the fast access of investors to the capital market and the way in which they can buy and sell shares.
