The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), the most important institution of the local capital market is organizing the 8th edition of the Individual Investors Forum, a benchmark event aimed at retails investors. On the 10th of November, over 20 speakers will come in front of the public with presentations and workshops dedicated to both potential and experimented investors. The event will take place between 9.30 AM and 4.30 PM at Radisson Blu, Atlas room (63-81, Calea Victoriei, Bucharest) and those wishing to participate can register here.

"There are many reasons to join us at this autumn edition of the Individual Investors Forum, where we have an agenda which totally reflects the event’s theme „My money, my future”. I will just name some of the reasons: we need to learn to discipline ourselves financially, however restrictive it may seem, to save and invest constantly. The final purpose is a predictable result: a better future", stated Adrian Tanase, CEO of Bucharest Stock Exchange.

"At the Forum we usually discuss about investments, profits, analysis, portfolios. But we also discuss about something else: about the experiences of the people who invest, about their success and we try to exchange between us this knowledge accumulated over time. We would like this edition of the Forum to be an event aimed not only to gather knowledge and collect useful information, but aimed at meetings and discussions specific to a real investors' community as well”, stated Lucian Anghel, the President of the Board of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

There are least 10 reasons to join us:

  1. To find out what perseverance and patience mean from the endurance athlete Andrei Rosu, how you can transfer these qualities to the investment field and how you can use them to turn your decisions into real results on the capital market. Andrei Rosu sees himself as an action oriented person. Andrei’s story will be a starting point for each of us to become a better version in both, daily life and investment field.
  2. To see for yourself why it is worth investing the money you earn. Three representatives of investment funds, Aurel Bernat (BT Asset Management), Mihai Purcarea (BRD Asset Management) and Adrian Anghel (OTP Asset Management) will come up with arguments and examples so that each of us can better understand how investments impact our financial well-being.
  3. For the inspiration you can get from two experienced investors in the local capital market - Cristian Tudorescu, co-founder Investors Club, and Mircea Iliescu, blogger www.bvbescu.ro, blog of an investor on BVB – they will discuss about successful strategies on the stock exchange from an individual perspective.
  4. Because you can find out what responsible companies and investments mean on the stock exchange and you can see a comparison between the foreign and domestic market, from a discussion with Mihai Nichi?oiu, Senior Broker Tradeville moderated by Daniela Serban, Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Coordinator McGuireWoods Romania.
  5. For the passion and dedication of the listed companies on BVB in their relation with the investors. The Corporate Governance of a listed company involves, among other things, a good communication with current and potential investors and with the company’s shareholders as well. On a local context, can we talk about a specific translation of “Good IR”? Or the principles are the same, no matter the time and place? The representatives of Purcari Wineries (WINE), Nuclearelectrica (SNN) and Antibiotice (ATB) will come to the Forum to share with us their experience and to interact with you as a potential investor.
  6. To learn how to manage and temper our emotions, especially on such a dynamic field as investment. How to avoid rushed decisions specific to beginner investors, we will find out from Dan Rusu, Head of Research Banca Transilvania.
  7. To discern between opportunities, losses, greed and profit and to find out what is the unit by which we measure the profits on the stock market. Mihnea Barbulescu, Sales Manager at Erste Asset Manager, will speak about how the earning can vary throughout a certain period of time, depending on how much we invest and what financial instruments we opt for.
  8. To experience during an interactive workshop, together with brokers and representatives of investment funds, what it means to be an investor, how you can become one and how you can adjust your investment behavior according to your own investor profile.
  9. Because we are not omniscient and we need, at least some of us, models to follow, experiences and knowledge of others to motivate ourselves and succeed in everything we want to achieve. Mihai Caruntu, Senior Analyst Corporate Finance at BRD, will speak about simple ways to detect the opportunities on the stock exchange.
  10. Because you need pertinent information from specialists, especially in the fiscal field. After all, it is about your money that needs to be managed appropriately. Irina Nistor, Senior Manager at PwC Romania, will come to the Forum to answer to all your questions related to the Unique Declaration on Income and Social Contributions.
